Coffee Cozies...What are they?

Have you seen this?
Not the mug....
the "holder", that is surrounding the mug.
Its called a "coffee cozie"
at least thats what I call them.
Its made out of fabric
and it "replaces" the cardboard "sleeve" that you get when you buy "takeout" coffee.
Anyway....my oldest daughter made this one for me.
It works great for my travel mug.
How many of you would like to have one of these "cozies"?
Raise your hand.
I am having a GIVEAWAY....soon....
that you could WIN one.
Stay TUNED.....
Have a Tremendous Tuesday!
Take care,
Nancy

P.S. Follow my blog with Bloglovin  GFC will be closing on March 1st!

March is Coming Soon....

So....
What do you think of when March is rolling around on the Calendar?
When I think of March
I think of  Spring...
but not so in the Rocky Mountains
I grew up in Nebraska, lived in Texas for 5 years...
been in Montana since 1987.
You think I would be use to spring being
FAR,FAR AWAY...
but one can only hope each year.
I am hoping that March will
"come in like a Lamb"
BUT
knowing it probably will
"Come in like a Lion"
So...
What I do is enjoy each sunny spring like day ...
when they arrive.
And Dream about Spring
Take care,
Nancy
P.S.
I am doing a
Blog Giveaway
soon....
Details to follow...
stay tuned.

Guess where this car was parked?
Yes...in a parking lot...

Oh....
What a Beautiful Day....
 ♫ ♪
(singing)
Here is what I woke up to...
 We love snow...
LOTS...of snow.
My husband removes snow in the winter.
My children like snow...especially on the mountains.
They ski and snowboard.
I enjoy the blue sky...and   a  BIG plus is SUNSHINE !
OH.....
Flowers are always nice....
 This is my Christmas cactus....today.
This is how we heat our house in the winter.
This is my favorite mug...for sipping hot tea.
It was a thrift store "find" for 50 cents.

These are just a few
of the things
 I thank God for
 on
Thankful Thursday.
What are you Thankful for?
Take care,

Sandpaper....OR Honey Words

In the Bible,
God gives us His words of wisdom.
Here are some of God's words to ponder today:

A soft answer turneth away wrath:
but grievous words stir up anger.
Proverbs 15:1

...but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
Proverbs 15:26b

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul,
and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24

Even a fool,
When  he holdeth his peace,
is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips
is esteemed a man of understanding.
Proverbs 17:28

He that goeth about as a talebearer
revealeth secrets:
therefore meddle not
with him that flattereth with his lips.
Proverbs 20:19

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue
keepeth his soul from troubles.
Proverbs 21:23

Recipe For You

Today I was "looking for" my Apple Crisp Recipe...
So I thought I would pass along this recipe to you:

Potato Chip Cookies
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes Ready In: 35 Minutes
Serves 30

Ingredients:
1 cup butter or margarine,softened
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup crushed ridged potato chips
1/2 cup ground pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour

Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Stir in potato chips and pecans. Add vanilla; mix well. Stir in flour just until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and forms a ball. and what you think of this one.
I am off to bake some apple crisp.
Happy Cooking,
Nancy

Fighting the Dish Monster

So...
Today....I was thinking....
(Yes... I do think a little now and then)
I was thinking deep thoughts...
Like...
why I do not like doing dishes.
I know...everyone loves having clean dishes...
and an empty sink...
because it is nice to take clean ones out of the cupboard...
instead of washing what you need.
This is why I do not "like to wash" dishes....
Its goes back to my childhood
(imagine that)
I remember after supper...
it was my turn to wash dishes...
(seems like it was always my turn)
Anyway...
I am standing at the sink washing dishes
(we did not have a dish washing machine)
and looking out the kitchen window...
This is what I saw:
EVERY neighboorhood child
playing in my backyard...including my brother.
While I am washing the (neverending) pile of dishes.
I don't recall getting to go out to play after I was done with the dishes...
it was probably dark by then.
SO....
That is my story
(from probably an 8 year old viewpoint)
BTW...
I think I have somewhat of a handle on the dish situation now,
and I am not bitter at my parents for "making" me wash dishes.
I do not think about it most days...
stock photo : A woman wearing dish washing gloves and an apron contemplates doing the dishes.
just when we have had a BIG meal and lots of dishes
So...
If you come over...feel free to wash a dish or two...
if you want to.
(♥Thanks...Heather♥)
What is your story about washing dishes?
Take care
and
 have a
Fantastic Friday,
Nancy

Wall Art at Bargin Prices

I am in a decorating mood....
this usually happens when...
I get my home decorating magazines in the mail....
sometimes they come all at once
(usually around the middle of the month)
I read mostly look at the pictures for ideas...
I have learned over the years that you can "shop at home"....
meaning....
look around and see if you can "change things up a bit"...
by using the decorating items that you currently have.
Look at and for things you wouldn't usually use...
when I get creative...there are all kinds of possibilities.
(Sure is handy when you don't have any cash)
And many of the blogs I follow have wonderful ideas.
BUT....
If you do have a little cash on hand....
going to thrift stores can be fun.
My usual spending is around $5.00 or less per trip
(unless my children are with me....they see alot to buy)
Ok....so imagine this wall with nothing on it
(boring wood paneling)
It was like that for many, many years...
I just could not decide what to put on it...I guess.
As of yesterday all of the above is there....
I   AM   LOVING   IT!
I call it my Lavender wall...since thats what it mostly has.
I  bought the little wooden shelf for $2 on Monday
(it was even the right color)
The rest of the things I had.
So...just look around and see what you have...
And get creative.
I am off to see what else I can do to redecorate.
See you soon....take care,
Nancy

Bargain Shopping....Too Much?

Ok....
I have a few questions....
and maybe some answers...
As most of you know...
I have a large family...
which means...
we go through alot of food...right?
And  our family does have friends(which come over....right?)
(and eat our food...right?)

NEEDLESS  to say....
I  AM  A  HUNTER....(no...not that kind)
I "hunt" @ the grocery store...
to some of you...
I may be lame....actually I don't mind....
but I may mention prices to you(especially if you come over for a visit).
And you may "wonder" why I "need" so many boxes of cereal.
Well....
I will tell you...
There was a:
1) really good sale on it
2) I have coupons for the cereal(making it even as better deal)
3) Got a coupon for a  FREE gallon of milk(after purchasing cereal)
4) Got a $2 coupon(after purchase)
5) Expiration date on cereal is Dec 2012
SO.....
that is why I have alot of cereal at my house
Wouldn't you too?
BTW....
I have shopping this way before
 the Extreme couponers came along
and
I do NOT "clear the shelves"

Love to you all,
Nancy
