A soft answer turneth away wrath:
but grievous words stir up anger.
Proverbs 15:1
...but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul,
and health to the bones.

Even a fool,
When he holdeth his peace,
is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips
is esteemed a man of understanding.

He that goeth about as a talebearer
revealeth secrets:
therefore meddle not
with him that flattereth with his lips.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue
keepeth his soul from troubles.

Thanks for posting these great reminders/truths! I have a continual battle with my mouth. Many years ago, I underlined all the verses in Proverbs that had ANYTHING to do with mouth, tongue, words, etc.
(And really, you don't have to keep up with me in the footstool department. I've gone a little overboard, I think!)
I really enjoyed the post.... I think I babble with my mouth when around everyone, but once in front of a stranger I seem to shut it and not really say much not even about the Lord... So I must work on it lol
